The 2023 digital edition of the album features two new tracks, ‘Cherry Tree Carol’ and ‘White Wine In The Sun’, the first of which you can hear below – it beats most of what you’ll hear in our Christmas chart this year including Ladbaby (but probably not including ‘Stop the Cavalry’ to be a fair. Flowers is the debut studio album by Australian alternative rock group Pacific Avenue. It was announced in February 2023, alongside “Spin Me Like Your Records”, released on 5 May 2023 and peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Charts.
The album will be supported by the Flowers Australia tour commencing in Perth on 28 July 2023.
At the 2023 ARIA Music Awards, the album earned the group a nomination for was nominated for Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist. The album was nominated for Best Rock Album.

As soon as your eyes set on Nefeli Fasouli, it is as if “Your World” is filled with light, smiling at you. It’s hard not to single her out in a crowded room, as her smile illuminates the space. Her voice, her aura, her profiles, her moves and gestures, evoke the Nouvelle Vague girls of the French cinema, even though she is a girl living in today’s Athens. Foivos Delivorias is the producer of her debut solo album, titled “Your world”, released last year by United We Fly, a collaboration that took her to the center stage, through their joint appearances. Nefeli recalls thinking that Foivos is no ordinary man, but a Marvel superhero, after first meeting.

Due to COVID-19, the French avant-garde band Magma was unable to perform live, so they decided to dive into the studio to create new material. This resulted in a brand new album titled Kãrtëhl, a collective album such as they have not made in a long time. The band reformed in 2020 and added new musicians to the lineup, which created opportunities for new innovative compositions. After the rather dark 2019 Zëss, this new work Kãrtëhl features bright and resolutely optimistic collective new work, the result of an “Operation Kartëhl”.

The BASMyT quartet is a new band founded by saxophonist and clarinetist, Jacek Mielcarek. The lineup with Marek Kądziela (guitar), Jakub Mielcarek (double bass) and Łukasz Storzewicz (drums) was formed in July 2022 while working on music inspired by the Gospel according to St. John. As the leader recalls: During that meeting, we were united by a special bond that is difficult to describe. I felt that this personnel arrangement could not be a one-time adventure and I quickly started thinking about the concept of another project that we could implement together. The most important thing for me was that it should not be a typical leader-team arrangement, but rather a collective in which everyone gives something of themselves.

The album, entitled “E il vento ti ascolterà”, was born from the productive collaboration between the pianist Danilo Rea and the Orchestra Filarmonica della Calabria conducted by Filippo. Arlia. A musical experience that embodies the perfect fusion of different musical genres: on the one hand the pianism of Rea, the dreamy aura where reminiscences of immortal pop songs, imbued with jazz nuances, rise to the lyric; on the other hand all the sweetness and intensity of a classical orchestra, which can emphasize every single note. ” E il vento ti ascolterà “, “My man”, “Fiori di neve”, “Giulia Morik” the four songs that feature Rea with the Filarmonica della Calabria, a musical narra-tion that, naturally, takes on different facets and establishes a dialogue with the classi-cal world, to which belongs the last piece that completes this record, entrusted to the orchestra alone, “Les Preludes” symphonic poem by Franz Liszt. Here the orchestra expresses all its wisdom in a sublime performance, aimed at emphasizing the heroic character of the piece, interspersed with moments of pastoral consolation.

For Migration, composer John Powell was tasked with creating a theme for a reluctant hero that evolves throughout his journey. Written and directed by Benjamin Renner, Migration follows a family of ducks on a new journey. Mack (Kumail Nanjiani) is a mallard who is content with never leaving the safety of his pond, until his wife Pam (Elizabeth Banks) convinces him that their children need to see the world. Setting their sights on Jamaica, Mack takes his family on a trip south that quickly goes wrong. As they overcome new challenges and meet new friends, the family discovers they are capable of much more than they thought. As Mack’s attitude towards migrating changes throughout the film, Powell’s theme for the character became grander to match his growth.
