Volume five in Creed Taylor’s East Coast Jazz series showcases double bassist Milt Hinton and his quartet: A.J. Sciacca on clarinet, Dick Katz on piano and Osie Johnson on drums. About half the tunes on this 1955 release are original compositions by either Hinton or Katz. Generally a swingin’ jam release.
