The band is known for their high energy, guitar driven, hard rock vibe, while featuring elements of classic rock, blues, and metal, with a propensity for improvisation. Joining revered guitarist and band founder George Lynch (The End Machine, The Banishment, ex-Dokken) for this newest Lynch Mob album are vocalist Gabriel Colón, bassist Jaron Gulino (Tantric, Heavens Edge), and drummer Jimmy Danda (ex-Bulletboys).
“There’s been so many iterations of Lynch Mob since the the first line-up in 1989 of Oni Logan, Mick Brown, Anthony Esposito, and myself. Putting Lynch Mob together was just an extension of what I’d always strived for in a band: the best possible musicians, chemistry, and brotherhood. My bands have not only been my best friends, but also family. When we come up together and work hard and struggle together, we create a bond that lasts a lifetime. Those who travel in winter often long for home, for warmth and security during the dark season. The lautten compagney Berlin undertakes special musical “winter journeys” under its founder and director Wolfgang Katschner. The music is largely from the 17th century with works by Philipp Heinrich Erlebach, Andreas Hammerschmidt, Michael Praetorius, Heinrich Schütz and Johann Hermann Schein. They are joined by tunes or folk songs such as “Ach bittrer Winter, wie bist Du kalt” and the longing for spring the song “So treiben wir den Winter aus”, which the lautten compagney has arranged for its instrumentation.

By titling his eighth Criss Cross album Over Here!, trumpeter Jim Rotondi picks up on the sentiments he signified with The Move, his seventh for the label. “It doesn’t necessarily mean moving somewhere else, but rather returning home, playing tunes with a lot of straight-ahead swing and interesting chord sequences with guys I’m comfortable with,” Rotondi stated in the liner notes I wrote for that kinetic 2009 recital.

Boston doesn’t get enough credit as a jazz town, from the days of the Storyville club and Cambridge-based Transition label to the star factory that is Berklee College of Music, the city stands tall against more celebrated places like Chicago and Detroit. One big part of that high level of creative output is Jerry Bergonzi who, for this date, leads his most Bostonian band in recent memory, reuniting with trumpeter pal Phil Grenadier and drummer Luther Gray. Bassist Harvie S came up from New York for the gig and it was he who suggested guitarist Sheryl Bailey for the album. She completes the Boston connection with her position as the Assistant Chair of Berklee’s legendary Guitar Department.
“To work with Jerry and study and perform his music is the definition of a dream come true,” says Bailey who has played with artists ranging from Ken Peplowski to Shingo Okudaira. Here, Bergonzi has convened a fine band for a compelling album, another feather in Boston’s tricorn hat.

Throughout her life, Lucia Dlugoszewski (1925 – 2000) was overshadowed by great masters of the New York music scene – even though she had been awarded a number of prestigious prizes and – in 1977 – was the first woman ever to receive the Koussevitzky International Recording Award. Today, almost 25 years after her death, the composer, lyric poet, inventor of musical instruments, choreographer and stage director is enjoying a renaissance. Increasingly, Diugoszewski’s compositions are included in programmes presented by festivals, ensembles and orchestras. Klangforum Wien is joining the ranks, re-interpreting these almost forgotten works with their usual virtuosity and precision. The double album includes selected pieces ranging from the 1950s to the 1990s. Compositions such as Abyss and Caress (1975), Each Time You Carry Me This Way (1993) and Avanti (1980) are here recorded for the very first time.

This is the second common Helene Blum & Harald Haugaard album after many individual album releases. We have gathered a lot of material over the last three years. Here you will find a small selection of our work. Songs, tunes and stories from Denmark and around. DEN STORE SOMMER is about the summer – both figurative and as metaphor. DEN STORE SOMMER contains a lullaby, a love song in a garden, a medival Danish ballad, a fairytale, an homage to a destigvished winemaker from Pfalz, songs and tunes about hope, faith and light, commissions and an almost forgotten lullaby written by the great Danish composer Carl Nielsen. Much of the material is inspired by a certain period of time in Danish arts history; DET FOLKELIGE GENNEMBRUD (The popular breakthrough) app 1900-1920 with painters, composers, writers and sculptresses such as Carl Nielsen and Anne-Marie Carl Nielsen, Anna & Fritz Syberg, Johannes V. Jensen and many more. Artists who came them self from the common life at the countryside, reflecteded everyday life as well as the big lines in arts and life. Artists for whom it was important that women and men had equal rights, possibilities, fees, etc.

William Byrd’s work stands out above all for the variety of genres and structural principles. This is particularly evident in his unique keyboard music. The influence that Byrd also had on the continental development of piano music remains remarkable. To commemorate the quadricentenary of Byrd’s death, this album presents a special collection of the works of Byrd as well as two of his close contemporaries, by his long-time mentor Thomas Tallis (c. 1505-1585) and the younger Orlando Gibbons (1583-1625). With William Byrd, Friederike Chylek follows up on her last albums Byrd –Keyboard works (OC1724) From Byrd To Byrd (OC1704) and Time stands still (OC1864). Friederike Chylek plays on an organ by Johann Christoph Leu, Klosterkirche Rheinau, 1715 and on a harpsichord by Boccalari, Napoli 1699, restored by Matthias Griewisch, 2019.
