The second stop on the musical journey of Dos, took us to a new place where the third element of the group, acoustics, has changed. All this has given us new emotions and different stresses in our relating with sound. It was a stimulating and constructive challenge as was our first album. Yet another “snapshot” of an unrepeatable moment and authentic. Recording an album with Fonè represents a tough and exciting challenge. It’s a way of recording that allows you to capture the magic and fragility of the music, which in turn should be used with extreme care and precision. The dialogue between the double bass and voice, which characterizes the album evokes the relationship that exists between the tightrope walker and the rope on which he walks. Contact with the rope creates security and transmits strength and control to the tightrope walker. What keeps the balance is to proceed step-by-step. The acoustics of the Auditorium of the Piaggio Museum was a key element and a great help during the recording of this album. It helped create a true encounter between the voices of our intent and careful in expressing emotional intention of each song in unison.

Enzo Pietropaoli is an Italian jazz bassist. In 1961 he moved to Rome and then debuted professionally in 1975 with “Trio Di Roma” (Danilo Rea and Roberto Gatto). As the title states, on this release Pietropaoli performs a collection of songs by himself. The album includes covers of Bob Marley, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, and more. Some originals are also peppered throughout.

The artistic adventure of DOS goes on, after the successful experience of the debut album that marked the beginning of an artistic bond between the voice of Eleonora Bianchini and the double bass played by Enzo Pietropaoli.
DOS presents IN SIGHT, an original glance at international pop songs (from Michael Jackson to Oasis), Italian classics (including Battiato, Battisti and Celentano) and previously unreleased songs, all connected in a journey along a gracefully homogeneous path. The voice of Eleonora Bianchini blends perfectly with the sonic taste of Enzo Pietropaoli, who is able to let his instrument “sing” in extraordinary ways. “Standard” recordings often tend to penalize the sound of double bass, whereas the recordings signed by fonè are able to emphasize the musicality of this instrument, making all upper harmonics perfectly audible, with a peculiar richness in timbre.
The recordings took place in a natural environment; in this case, our choice was the Auditorium Hall at the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera, a location particularly appreciated by Giulio Cesare Ricci. The Auditorium is located in the factory where the first Vespas used to be assembled in the early 1900s: nowadays, it stands out for its truly excellent acoustics.
DOS 2 – IN SIGHT is able to offer a special taste, giving a new flavor to all the songs included in the record, most of which are imprinted in the past of any of us.
