What makes ‘Mojo’ special is that it was recorded live in the band’s legendary rehearsal space, ‘The Clubhouse’ in Los Angeles. There are no over-dubs or studio trickery. What you hear is what Tom and the Heartbreakers created live at that time. In 2010, Tom Petty said, ‘With this album, I want to show other people what I hear with the band. ‘Mojo’ is where the band lives when it’s playing for itself’. As for the songs, ‘Mojo’ showcases Rock ‘n’ Roll, to Country, to electric and acoustic Blues, to classic moody ballads. The album features the hit ‘I Should Have Known It’ and fan favourites such as ‘Good Enough’, ‘First Flash of Freedom’, ‘Something Good Coming’ and ‘No Reason to Cry’.

Songs on these releases span from 1973 to 1993 and include early Mudcrutch recordings, demos and alternate versions from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers albums pre-1995, plus some great cover versions. Until now these two discs were previously only available as part of 1995’s Playback box set.

You’re Gonna Get It! is the second album by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, released in 1978. Originally, the album was to be titled Terminal Romance. Like its self-titled predecessor, this album includes tight melodic songs awash in ringing guitars and organ. It reached #23 on Billboard’s Top LP’s & Tapes chart in 1978. It also earned Petty and the Heartbreakers their first gold record.

Many reviewers rated You’re Gonna Get It! only a notch lower than their moderately well-received debut album. Some reviews such as in Rolling Stone at the time noted the “impressive stylistic cohesiveness” between the two. It did chart higher, however, than its predecessor.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is the eponymous debut album by the band of the same name, released on November 9, 1976 by Shelter Records.

Initially following its release, the album received little attention in the United States. Following a British tour, it climbed to #24 on the UK album chart and the single “Anything That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll” became a hit in the UK. After nearly a year and many positive reviews, the album reached the U.S. charts, where it climbed to #55 in 1978 and eventually went Gold. The single “Breakdown” cracked the Top 40 in the U.S. and “American Girl” became an FM radio staple that can still be heard today.

The Last DJ is the eleventh studio album by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The tracks “The Last DJ”, “Money Becomes King”, “Joe”, and “Can’t Stop the Sun” are attacks on the greediness of the music industry. Although he first claimed that the album and title track were both works of fiction, Petty later admitted that both were inspired by Los Angeles DJ Jim Ladd, although he had already claimed this on Ladd’s radio show, prior to the album’s release.

A “limited edition” digipack version of the album was also released, including a DVD of music videos and other footage shot during the album’s production. The album reached #9 on the Billboard 200 aided by the single “The Last DJ” which hit #22 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks in 2002. As of 2010, The Last DJ has sold 353,000 copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan.

In an episode of The Simpsons titled “How I Spent My Strummer Vacation”, Homer receives song-writing lessons from Tom Petty, and in the original airing the track “The Last DJ” can be heard playing over the radio in the final scene. The song was changed for syndication. The song “Dreamville” is played at the end of the DVD that was released to commemorate the 2002 Anaheim Angels’ World Series win. The album also marks the return of original Heartbreaker Ron Blair on bass, replacing his own replacement, the ailing Howie Epstein. His return was late in the recording process however, and Petty and Campbell contribute most of the bass work themselves.

This album is the Heartbreakers’€™ sixth and featured multiple producers on various tracks including Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, Jimmy Iovine, Dave Stewart, and Robbie Robertson. It was recorded at Gone Gator One Studios, Sound City, Village Recorder, Sunset Sound, and Church Studio, London. Southern Accents made it to number 7 on the US Billboard 200 after its release in 1985. Singles from this album include “Make It Better (Forget About Me)”, “Rebels” and “Don’€™t Come Around Here No More”, which peaked at number 13 on Billboard‘s Hot 100.

Songs and Music From the Motion Picture “She’s the One” is the ninth studio album by American rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, first released in August 1996. The album served as the soundtrack for the 1996 film She’s the One, written and directed by Edward Burns.

Songs and Music From the Motion Picture “She’s the One” peaked at #15 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and was certified gold by the RIAA in December 1996. The track “Walls (Circus)” peaked at #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #6 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. “Climb That Hill” also peaked at #6 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, while “Change The Locks” peaked at #20.

This album was not mentioned on the four-hour Petty documentary Runnin’ Down a Dream, though Tom could be seen doing a studio session of the song “Angel Dream (No. 4)”.

This album was produced by Tom Petty and Jimmy Iovine and was recorded at four different studios: Record Plant in Hollywood, CA, Wally Heider’s in Hollywood, CA, Crystal in Hollywood, CA and Rumbo Studios in Canoga Park, CA. “You Got Lucky” and “Change of Heart” were released as singles.

Let Me Up (I’ve Had Enough) (styled on the cover as “Let Me Up (I’ve Had Enough)” with quotation marks) is the seventh studio album by the American band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, released in 1987. This album features more songwriting collaborations between Petty and Mike Campbell than any other Petty album. It is also notable for being the only previous studio album not represented on Petty’s 1993 Greatest Hits album, even though the single “Jammin’ Me” (co-written with fellow Traveling Wilbury Bob Dylan) was #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks for four weeks. “Jammin’ Me” was later included in the album Anthology: Through the Years, which the RIAA has declared gold. In addition, Let Me Up (I’ve Had Enough) was made to sound like a live recording, using a technique they borrowed from Dylan.
